- ³½ THE CHARTS½
-
- ¼ IN A BLOODY DUEL¼
-
- ¹
- ²Now we do it. A competition between
- the three (only ?) best charts in the
- scene. Namely:¹
- ³The Charts - Ram Jam
- European Top 20 - Equinox
- The Official Eurochart - Static Bytes¹
- ²During the competition the competitors
- have fing their way through different
- obstacles like; design, voters, etc.
- ¹
- ³Design:¹
- ²-------¹
- ³Static Bytes:¹ First their usual
- note... Then a well drawed, but ugly
- man appears on the screen. A picture
- by D-mage/Virtual Dreams/FLT. Then the
- chart itself appears. The good old
- design. But this time with some
- changes. You see some strange
- "splat-colors" added in the select
- menu. Looks strange in my eyes, but
- not ugly. It's done by Mount/Parasite
- work. Otherwise it's like it use to
- be. Mark (out of 10): ²8¹
-
- ³Equinox:¹ The same loading stuff as
- STB. Starts with a note and then a
- picture by an Equinox member called
- "Chrome". Quite good, but not as good
- as D-Mage's. Then the menu appears.
- Still quite good, but used to be much
- better. Equinox change their design in
- every issue and that is surely a GREAT
- idea! The design in issue 6 was really
- great. But now we are looking at
- number 7 and not 6. Mark (out of 10): ²7¹
-
- ³Ram Jam:¹ A quite special intro again
- by Blodfuckers design. Short, but
- effective. Then a very well drawed
- ascii logo appears. Press '1' for
- chart and '2' for the Voting tool. The
- voting-tool is a quite good idea. Ok,
- then the loading picture comes up.
- Ehhh...it's a quite strange one by
- Turbo of Bronx. The new menu is quite
- bad, but the chart section which is
- completely different from the menu, but
- still in the same style, looks good.
- Mark (out of 10): ²7¹
-
- ³Music:¹
- ²------¹
- ³Static Bytes:¹ Again Cutcreator!
- (Hi!). And again a nice tune which
- contains lots of parts in the same
- style as ever. Excellent for reading.
- Mark: ²9¹
-
- ³Equinox:¹ Wow! Two different pieces of
- music here. One by D-zire/Silents and
- one by D-Lux/Equinox. The tune by
- D-zire is Ok, but I think the tune he
- did for the TCC party invitation was
- much better.. D-Lux' tune is rather
- bad, but still Ok. Mark: ²8¹
-
- ³Ram Jam:¹ Hollywood again! (Hi!). A
- nice pop tune with a really good
- melody. Really worth listening to.
- Mark: ²9¹
-
- ³Mag section:¹
- ²------------¹
- ³Static Bytes:¹ Not so many articles,
- but all of a very high standard.
- Estrup knows how to make even the
- editorial worth reading. The
- alternative chart is a very good idea.
- Unfortunately there are not so many
- advertisments this time. But as
- always, there are a lot of excellent
- and funny Clip-arts. The guy who made
- the "Kilp-Arzt" should have giant
- reward! They also have a great a
- gallery. Mark: ²9¹
-
- ³Equinox:¹ Again a lot of articles.
- Some are good, some are less good. But
- overall they are really worth reading.
- (Except Speedy's boring life-article.
- Ha!) Neither so many advertisments this
- time (Why?). They have also a gallery,
- but with very low quality pictures.
- Mark: ²8¹
-
- ³Ram Jam:¹ Wow! This time they showed
- us that they also could do a great mag
- part. Actually the mag part in
- Ramjam's chart is really amazing and
- nice. A lot of reviews and other scene
- related stuff. Also their price-awards
- is an excellent idea. Good work! No
- gallery though! Mark: ²8¹
-
- ³Voters:¹
- ²-------¹
- ³Static Bytes:¹ Not so many voters this
- time, but a lot of more well-known
- people vote here every-time.. Total of
- 1xx isn't much. Estrup needs a lot
- more swappers to spread vote-sheets
- etc. But if you look at the results
- they are very interesting. These 150
- people seems to make a really fair
- chart. Nice to see that people at last
- found out that Sanity belongs in the
- top. Mark: ²7¹
-
- ³Equinox:¹ Again a lot of voters! But,
- a Lot of them seems to be traders. And
- traders seems to be quite a lot
- "out-of-the-scene". Why are Sanity
- only number 8 ? Why isn't Balance
- musicdisk called Sound Barier on , when
- it is # 7 on STB's Eurochart? It's an
- excellent musicdisk! But still, they
- have most voters!! And I guess they
- will keep on getting more and more
- votes, because they are a big group
- with a lot of swappers. And they have
- a lot of boards too. But anyway, some
- people says that Equinox fake their
- votes. I will not give my opinion
- about that here because this should be
- an objective article (It surely is...
- ed.). But I think that a lot of
- strange people is on Equinox' chart.
- Their voting system is bad because you
- should of course not be able to vote
- for Equinox members on their own chart.
- Mark: ²6¹
-
- ³Ram Jam¹: Ramjam release their chart
- every month which is an Excellent idea.
- And of course that also turns the
- number of votes to a lower amount. But
- they showed us with this issue that
- they could get a lot more voters, if
- they waited one more month with
- releasing the chart. What if they
- waited 4 months like the two others did
- ? 500 voters ? But still! If there
- is 2000 guys in the scene, why do only
- 215 vote ? Mark: ²8¹
-
- Ok, now it is time for the result of
- the competition:
-
- Des.: Mu.: Mag: Vot.: Total
-
- ²STB:¹ 8 9 9 7 ¢33¢¹
-
- ²EQX:¹ 7 8 8 6 ³29¹
-
- ²R.J:¹ 7 9 8 8 ³32¹
-
- Puuuuhh! I just thought it was a dead
- run between Static Bytes and Ramjam!
- Ok, ³Static Bytes¹ won by a one point
- this time. But don't forget that this
- in a review of STB # 21, EQX # 7 and
- Ramjam # 7.
- Maybe I'll do this again when the next
- issue's come out. Wait and see.
- If anybody has something to say then
- just write to us.
