  3. ¼ IN A BLOODY DUEL¼

  6. ²Now  we  do  it.  A competition between
  7. the  three  (only ?) best charts in the
  8. scene. Namely:¹
  9. ³The Charts - Ram Jam
  10. European Top 20 - Equinox
  11. The Official Eurochart - Static Bytes¹
  12. ²During  the competition the competitors
  13. have  fing  their way through different
  14. obstacles  like;  design,  voters, etc.
  15. ¹
  16. ³Design:¹
  17. ²-------¹
  18. ³Static   Bytes:¹    First   their  usual
  19. note...   Then  a well drawed, but ugly
  20. man  appears  on the screen.  A picture
  21. by D-mage/Virtual Dreams/FLT.  Then the
  22. chart  itself  appears.   The  good old
  23. design.    But   this  time  with  some
  24. changes.     You   see   some   strange
  25. "splat-colors"   added  in  the  select
  26. menu.   Looks  strange  in my eyes, but
  27. not  ugly.  It's done by Mount/Parasite
  28. work.   Otherwise  it's  like it use to
  29. be.  Mark (out of 10): ²8¹

  31. ³Equinox:¹   The  same  loading  stuff as
  32. STB.   Starts  with  a  note and then a
  33. picture  by  an  Equinox  member called
  34. "Chrome".   Quite good, but not as good
  35. as  D-Mage's.   Then  the menu appears.
  36. Still  quite  good, but used to be much
  37. better.  Equinox change their design in
  38. every  issue and that is surely a GREAT
  39. idea!  The design in issue 6 was really
  40. great.   But  now  we  are  looking  at
  41. number 7 and not 6. Mark (out of 10): ²7¹

  43. ³Ram  Jam:¹   A quite special intro again
  44. by   Blodfuckers  design.   Short,  but
  45. effective.   Then  a  very  well drawed
  46. ascii  logo  appears.   Press  '1'  for
  47. chart and '2' for the Voting tool.  The
  48. voting-tool  is a quite good idea.  Ok,
  49. then  the  loading  picture  comes  up.
  50. Ehhh...it's  a  quite  strange  one  by
  51. Turbo  of Bronx.  The new menu is quite
  52. bad,  but  the  chart  section which is
  53. completely different from the menu, but
  54. still  in  the  same style, looks good.

  57. ³Music:¹
  58. ²------¹
  59. ³Static    Bytes:¹    Again   Cutcreator!
  60. (Hi!).   And  again  a  nice tune which
  61. contains  lots  of  parts  in  the same
  62. style  as ever.  Excellent for reading.

  65. ³Equinox:¹  Wow!  Two different pieces of
  66. music  here.  One by D-zire/Silents and
  67. one  by  D-Lux/Equinox.   The  tune  by
  68. D-zire  is  Ok, but I think the tune he
  69. did  for  the  TCC party invitation was
  70. much  better..   D-Lux'  tune is rather
  71. bad, but still Ok. Mark: ²8¹

  73. ³Ram  Jam:¹   Hollywood again!  (Hi!).  A
  74. nice   pop  tune  with  a  really  good
  75. melody. Really worth listening to.
  76. Mark: ²9¹

  78. ³Mag section:¹
  79. ²------------¹
  80. ³Static  Bytes:¹   Not  so many articles,
  81. but   all  of  a  very  high  standard.
  82. Estrup  knows  how  to  make  even  the
  83. editorial     worth    reading.     The
  84. alternative  chart is a very good idea.
  85. Unfortunately  there  are  not  so many
  86. advertisments   this   time.    But  as
  87. always,  there  are  a lot of excellent
  88. and  funny Clip-arts.  The guy who made
  89. the   "Kilp-Arzt"   should  have  giant
  90. reward!   They  also  have  a  great  a
  91. gallery.  Mark:  ²9¹

  93. ³Equinox:¹   Again  a  lot  of  articles.
  94. Some are good, some are less good.  But
  95. overall  they are really worth reading.
  96. (Except  Speedy's  boring life-article.
  97. Ha!) Neither so many advertisments this
  98. time (Why?).  They have also a gallery,
  99. but with very low quality pictures.

  102. ³Ram  Jam:¹   Wow!  This time they showed
  103. us  that they also could do a great mag
  104. part.    Actually   the   mag  part  in
  105. Ramjam's  chart  is  really amazing and
  106. nice.  A lot of reviews and other scene
  107. related stuff.  Also their price-awards
  108. is  an  excellent idea.  Good work!  No
  109. gallery though!  Mark: ²8¹

  111. ³Voters:¹
  112. ²-------¹
  113. ³Static  Bytes:¹  Not so many voters this
  114. time, but  a  lot  of  more  well-known
  115. people vote here every-time..  Total of
  116. 1xx  isn't  much.   Estrup  needs a lot
  117. more  swappers  to  spread  vote-sheets
  118. etc.   But  if  you look at the results
  119. they  are  very interesting.  These 150
  120. people  seems  to  make  a  really fair
  121. chart.  Nice to see that people at last
  122. found  out  that  Sanity belongs in the
  123. top. Mark: ²7¹
  124.  
  125. ³Equinox:¹   Again a lot of voters!  But,
  126. a Lot of them seems to be traders.  And
  127. traders   seems   to  be  quite  a  lot
  128. "out-of-the-scene".    Why  are  Sanity
  129. only  number  8  ?   Why  isn't Balance
  130. musicdisk called Sound Barier on , when
  131. it  is # 7 on STB's Eurochart?  It's an
  132. excellent  musicdisk!   But still, they
  133. have  most  voters!!   And I guess they
  134. will  keep  on  getting  more  and more
  135. votes,  because  they  are  a big group
  136. with  a lot of swappers.  And they have
  137. a  lot of boards too.  But anyway, some
  138. people  says  that  Equinox  fake their
  139. votes.   I  will  not  give  my opinion
  140. about  that here because this should be
  141. an  objective  article (It surely is...
  142. ed.).   But  I  think  that  a  lot  of
  143. strange  people  is  on Equinox' chart.
  144. Their  voting system is bad because you
  145. should  of  course  not be able to vote
  146. for Equinox members on their own chart.
  147. Mark: ²6¹

  149. ³Ram  Jam¹:   Ramjam  release their chart
  150. every month which is an Excellent idea.
  151. And  of  course  that  also  turns  the
  152. number of votes to a lower amount.  But
  153. they  showed  us  with  this issue that
  154. they  could  get  a lot more voters, if
  155. they   waited   one   more  month  with
  156. releasing  the  chart.   What  if  they
  157. waited 4 months like the two others did
  158. ?   500  voters ?  But still!  If there
  159. is  2000 guys in the scene, why do only
  160. 215 vote ?  Mark:  ²8¹

  162. Ok,  now  it  is time for the result of

  173. Puuuuhh!   I just thought it was a dead
  174. run  between  Static  Bytes and Ramjam!
  175. Ok,  ³Static  Bytes¹  won  by a one point
  176. this  time.  But don't forget that this
  177. in  a  review  of STB # 21, EQX # 7 and
  178. Ramjam # 7.
  179. Maybe  I'll do this again when the next
  180. issue's come out.  Wait and see.
